Bio

 

Born in 1976, lives and works in Trivignano Udinese (Italy). First-class honours arts degree _ PhD, University of Udine _ Compared Literatures. Visual artist and activist, she works with different media (drawing, painting, perfomance, video, installation) on the relationship between human and nonhuman animals, and on the connections among different forms of dominion and discrimination. She collaborates on a continuous basis with zoologists, scientists, zooanthropologists and philosophers.

Co-founder and art director of RAVE East Village Artist Residency  www.raveresidency.com. 

RAVE is an artistic project that deals with the role and responsibility of contemporary art in relation to the otherness represented by animals, and with the need to rethink ourselves through biocentrism and antispeciesism. It supports artistic research and production, and promotes dialogue with artists, critics, philosophers, curators,  architects, poets, biologists, zoologists and activists. 

RAVE takes place in the Friuli countryside, in a rural place inhabited by animals rescued from the slaughterhouse by the means of Tiziana’s project Art_History, and now cared for in a more natural environment. The artists hosted are Adrian Paci (2011), Ivan Moudov (2013), Regina Josè Galindo (2014), Diego Perrone (2015), Tomàs Saraceno (2016), Igor Grubić (2017) and Giuseppe Stampone. Tiziana is also the project creator and art director of the first festival of biocentrism Gaia@menTe.

Collaborated with philosophers, scientists and art historians in different pubblications, philosophical essays and researches. Between the others: Animot 1: Jackie D, dedicated to Jacques Derrida, curated by Leonardo Caffo and Maurizio Ferraris, Margini dell’umanità. Animalità e ontologia sociale. L. Caffo, Un art pour l’autre. L’animal dans la philosophie et dans l’art, V. Sonzogni and L. Caffo, I Cercaluna with the poet Pierluigi Cappello and Elephant Woman Song, with the poetess Natalia Molebatsi.

In 2008 her project Vesuvian Raphsody (realized by Persisters at MADRE Museum in Naples) has been presented at imagine art after: Satellite Talk, E:vent, East End London, with Breda Beban, curator of the exhibition image art after at TATE Britain.
