On September 26, 2019, in New York, in the heart of Manhattan, a short walk from Columbus Circle, on the top floor of The Yard for the Art in Lobbies program, Sasha Vinci’s first solo exhibition entitled “THE MULTINATURAL SHAPE OF TOMORROW” opens, curated by by SARACROWN and Diego Mantoan. The project is carried out with the support and collaboration of the gallery aA29 Art Project.

In a totally anthropized metropolitan context, where every activity and space is dominated by man, Sasha Vinci’s works become luminous “signs” that suggest alternative paths, windows on possible worlds, to imagine a new form of responsible humanity to project itself towards a multinaturalism necessary to overcome the devastating era of the Anthropocene. The magnificence of nature, the surprising wonder of new colored shapes, the astonishment at possible intersections between flora, fauna and humanity then become icons of beauty that enclose a message of hope for the future and, at the same time, of revolution for the present.

All the works are made specifically for the Big Apple and fit into an intimidating environment, able to amplify that reflection on the interconnectedness between humanity and nature desired by the artist. Loaded with symbolism, Sasha Vinci’s creations traverse themes not yet overcome, in an attempt to build a relationship that goes beyond the boundaries of the human dimension, to another perspective, the cosmos of otherness.

The proposed images are dreamslike, sometimes surreal visions of non-human or post-human living beings, which are complemented through the viewer’s gaze, becoming a metaphor for the mirror itself, in which human beings are not placed in front of each other. to the other, to create new relationships between living entities. From its abyss nature pervades with a magnificent breath everything producing the multinaturalist face of tomorrow.

Sasha Vinci with these new New York works, restores to nature that strength to stem the drifts of an over-urbanized planet and generates meanings and signifiers capable of defining together a powerful sign to the point of breaking into the natural element freeing the cry. Ideas and concepts are thus imprinted on paper creating an open space between order and chaos in which the artist imagines a new existential condition for the beings that inhabit this planet.
The iconography remains suspended and open to multiple interpretations, they agree in harmony, becoming the reflection of the era we go through. The different pictorial techniques used – oil, pigments, inks, acrylics, glazes, crayons and graphite – are obtained from natural and synthetic materials, which concentrate and dilute along the course of the images, delineating through strong colors and a decisive sign, the softness of a different and possible look.
