On Friday 17th of February 201, at 18:00, aA29 Art Project Caserta presents the In-visible an exhibition by Kyle Thompson and the book Diario di un Schizofrenico by Ivan Montanaro.

aA29 Art Project Caserta presents In-visible, a selection of ten works by Kyle Thompson, the US visual artist represented by the gallery, who analyse the world of surreal and otherness. Curated by Federica de Stasio.

At the same time the writer Ivan Montanaro will be present in the gallery to present his latest book Diario di uno Schizofrenico.

Ivan Montanaro was born in Naples on 11 September 1978, graduated in Sociology from the “Federico II” University of Naples, was editor of the Maurizio Costanzo Show and collaborated in the creation of Orlando, a transmission for La7. He worked in the Italian Committee for the World Food Program and for Italian Volunteer for Development.

Diario di uno Schizofrenico is the story of a boy like many others. Suffering the experience of life, he finds himself catapulted into an alien reality: that of a psychiatric ward. Between melancholy, drugs, restraint cords, childhood memories and love stories, an indefinite time passes in the memory of oneself and in the growth of awareness of psychiatric department’s life. That could happen to everyone. Told as a logbook trying to follow the route, the book was adopted in many high schools and was the subject of several graduation theses.

Kyle Thompson was born in Chicago on 11 January 1992. He began taking photographs at the age of nineteen after discovering an interest in abandoned homes. His work is mostly composed of self-portraits taken, often, in empty forests and abandoned houses in across the United States.

His work contains an ephemeral narrative, a non-existent plot that lives only for an instant. This apparent fugacity actually lives in a constant unchanging state.

Kyle Thompson is currently based in Portland, Oregon, United States of America. Internationally renowned magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar (Spain), Hi Fructose, Marie Claire, have published his works, also receiving awards such as the Italian Vogue in 2012 and 2015.

The event will be moderated by Daniela Volpecina, journalist for Il Mattino and for the La Tagadà program.
