Bio

The main themes of Isabella Pers’ research are the observation and connections between natural, social and cultural ecosystems, the impact of anthropocentric dominion on the life of the planet and the transformations of our time.

Her participatory actions investigate the cognitive processes that aspire to symbiosis between all the living beings, analyzing the dynamics that characterize the choices of the human species and imagining new visions through the encounter between different perceptions. In recent years I have been working on the memory of water and plants, and how human actions can interact symbiotically with these paths.

With her sister Tiziana Pers founded RAVE East Village Artist Residency, a project that promotes the research on contemporary art in dialogue with the biocentric philosophy and anti-speciesist thought.  RAVE takes places in a farmhouse where animals that we rescued from the slaughterhouse and trees rescued from the knocking down live. The artists who took part at RAVE are Adrian Paci, Ivan Moudov, Regina José Galindo, Diego Perrone, Tomás Saraceno, Igor Grubic and Giuseppe Stampone.

Member of the jury of Unsolicited Proposal Program 2014-2015 and Franchise Program 2015, Apexart, New York, and di full(Y)_grounding by Bridge Art 2017, 2018 and 2019.
